Welcome to Monte Stewart's Journalism Web site

In 2000, I officially retired from the Calgary Herald - even though I still had 20 to 30 years left in my journalism career. Since then, I have mostly lived the freelance existence while re-locating to Vancouver from Calgary. I've written hundreds of articles for various publications and three books. Publications in which my articles have appeared include: The Calgary Herald, Vancouvers Sun, Ottawa Citizen, Business Edge, Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul, The Hockey News, The San Jose Mercury-News, The Lawyers Weekly, EnviroLine and Alberta Parent Quarterly.

More on My Background

My third book, Great Right Wingers: Stars of Hockey's Golden Age, is now available in bookstores and other leading retail outlets across Canada. I also publish other authors' books through my publishing company, Falcon Press, teach college and university-level journalism and self-publishing courses, and design Web sites. Please check out the rest of my site, and contact me for help with your writing, publishing, teaching or Web design projects.
